Given our ability to offer exclusive use of the whole operation, we encourage our clients to bring their wives, children, siblings and hunting buddies along to share the experience with them.

Private Tours
You and your group can enjoy 10,000 gorgeous mountainous acres, with 4,500 of those dedicated to hunting, in the middle of central South Island of New Zealand- all to yourself! We provide private tours, and because we place quality over quantity, we have a maximum amount of hunters at a time. This means you and your group can have a private hunting experience, without the risk of running into other hunters.
Luxury Accommodation
High Peak combines the thrill of a hunt in rugged terrains with comfort and style of luxurious amenities. Everything from travelling and transport to food and accommodation makes up a hunting trip. Our hunting trips are all inclusive of lodging, guiding, meals, drinks, transfers and equipment.
The High Peak Lodge is a sanctuary for hunters and otherwise, and is your private four-bedroom home with plenty of space during your hunting trip. The lodge is a modern, centrally heated, stone and timber retreat, fully kitted out with everything you could need for a relaxing stay with friends and family in between hunting and adventuring.

Plus you’ll have ready access to the activities at Terrace Downs Resort, a world-class 18-hole golf resort that borders the Rakaia Gorge river canyon. The Lodge looks out over the 5th green directly toward the summit of the 7,200-foot Mt Hutt – after a good day’s hunting, sitting in the hot tub with a beer and this view isn’t a bad place to be.

The Hut- your back country retreat
For those who want to stay out in the field, the High Peak Hut will give you a genuine New Zealand bush experience. Nestled in the native beech forest of the north quarter of the game estate, the hut is a rustic two bedroom hideaway equipped with stone fireplace, full cooking facilities, a shower and even an outdoor bath! Most High Peak guests opt for spending at least one night out in the hut during their stay.
The Homestead – The Ultimate in Personalised New Zealand Lodgings
For the hunter wishing to experience High Peak on an intimate level as private guests of the owners, the Homestead offers a level of personal insight into the inner workings of High Peak. Staying at the Homestead is ideal for the hunter who enjoys interacting with their hosts as much as the hunting itself.
A Hunter’s got to eat
At High Peak, we think food is a critical part of a successful hunting trip. We aim to provide our guests uncomplicated, quality fare utilising local ingredients to properly give our guests a taste of our part of New Zealand. Think roasted Canterbury lamb, wild venison, Akaroa salmon, fresh Pacific Coast seafood, seasonal vegetables from the High Peak garden – you get the picture.
All meals are prepared for you in the lodge kitchen by your chef and host, including any specific dietary or cultural requirements and preferences you may have. We always have a plentiful supply of premium New Zealand wines and beers on hand to wash it down, along with a fully-stocked bar for toasting your hunting success later into the evening.
Activities and Adventures
You can come to High Peak just to hunt, or you can combine your hunt with some of the incredible adventure experiences we offer. These range from the sublime (horse trekking through spectacular mountain landscapes) to the ridiculous (taking a helicopter to your own private hot tub on a 7,000 foot mountain) and everything in between.
Whether you are here to hunt by yourself or with your spouse, or bringing your friends and family, there will be plenty for everyone to do regardless of who they are or what they like to do. We can guarantee it that each and every one of you will go home with some amazing stories of your own.
The Fishing offered by the lodge is second to none in New Zealand. And touring activities such as horseback riding, golf, heli-skiing, helicopter touring, hiking, spa, and quaint town exploring are endless as well.
